Comprises of thousands of islands, Indonesia is encircled by the most active earthquake belt in the world, the Pacific ring of fire. To unveil the phenomenon, Kompas conducted an expedition from September 2011 through October 2012 by deploying a team of journalists to explore those most active volcanoes in the world and discovered the traces of the past tsunamis. The results of this expedition remain in context with the present condition of Indonesia which is prone to earthquakes, tsunamis and volcanic eruptions.
